In 2017, Stella Artois was the most popular brand of beer with 12 percent of responding UK consumers selected it as their favorite, followed by Budweiser with seven percent. About 40 percent of respondents said they don’t drink beer and roughly 15 percent stated that they prefer a brand not listed on the survey. Beer Brands and consumer interaction Stella Artois was also the brand that had the most Facebook page fans in March 2019. In fact, the first three places in the Facebook fan ranking mirror the results of the survey. However, other brands scored a higher number of fans than Carling, such as Coor’s Light UK. When it comes to YouTube subscribers Stella Artois UK only makes fourth place as Foster’s leads the ranking of UK subscribers. Beyond social media the Beer and Cider brand judged to be the healthiest brand in the UK was Guinness. Wider beer market Beer consumption per head in the UK fell by over twenty liters between 2003 and 2017. The same drop can be seen in the annual sales volume. After a five-year period of stagnation, beer manufacturers’ sales in the UK are up in 2017.
