GOES-Based Record of Blowing Dust Initiation Points for Southwestern North America

This dataset contains a csv file with initiation points of blowing dust plumes identified from Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) split window difference (10 - 12 μm) imagery during 2001–2020 across southwestern North America. Each record includes the date, latitude, longitude, and initiation time. The dataset was developed for the study “GOES-Based Trends in Blowing Dust Initiation Across Southwestern North America, 2001–2020” (Line et al. 2025).Please cite Line et al. 2025: Line, W. E., J. D.
