Behaviour of Silver-coated Fused Filament Fabricated PLA in HCl and NaCl Solutions

3D-printed PLA parts have gained popularity in various fields today. However, the real application of such parts in fields involving acidic and salty conditions (such as marine, food, biomedical, and others) is a subject of research. Herein, we present dataset of the behaviour of silver-coated PLA produced via fused filament fabrication. The data presents the images of topography, microstructure, and chemical characteristics of uncoated PLA and silver-coated PLA before and after immersion in HCl and NaCl for 21 days at room temperature. It also presents the tables for topography and mechanical properties of the samples.
