aNasal shedding was assessed via nasal swabs by RRT-PCR. A dash “—” indicates that no viral RNA was detected. An asterisk “*” indicates that live virus was confirmed in sample by virus isolation. Virus isolation was only attempted with samples with Ct values <38. bBecause initial results were much higher than most other samples, a second RRT-PCR run was conducted. Results presented represent the mean among the two independent runs.
