Group Antenatal Care Implementation Study in Geita, Tanzania

This dataset contains de-identified individual-level data from the implementation of Group Antenatal Care (G-ANC) in six public health facilities in Geita Region, Tanzania, collected between 2022 and 2024. The study enrolled 5,936 pregnant women across 149 G-ANC cohorts (8–12 women per cohort), implemented within routine public health services. The dataset was used in the manuscript “Does Group Antenatal Care Work in Routine Public Health Settings? Evidence from an Implementation Study in Geita, Tanzania” submitted to BMC Global & Public Health. Variables include: • Facility information (facility type, cohort ID) • Maternal characteristics (age, parity, gestational age at entry) • ANC utilization (total visits, IPTp3+, iron/folate, deworming, HIV/syphilis/malaria testing) • Delivery outcomes (facility delivery, birth outcome, low birth weight, stillbirth, neonatal death, complications) All data are fully anonymized and stripped of personally identifying information.
