CLIMUSH: ITS Sequencing of North American Aerial Spore Mycobiome

To better understand the ecological factors impacting the distributions of macrofungi across North America, we sampled aerial fungal spore communities from a shared set of habitats and fire histories at 8 NSF LTER research sites. Spore traps were placed out over two years in grassland, conifer, and oak-dominated habitats with and without recent fires and then sequenced using ITS1 high-throughput sequencing.
