Natural drought-responsive ESTs in Khalas, Reziz and Sheshi. Phoenix dactylifera

This study aimed to uncover the response of three date palm cultivars under natural drought conditions. Our findings revealed that the molecular response of all three date palm cultivars differ substantially, not only from eachother but alos from our prior study, where drought-responsive ESTs were mapped under glasshouse controlles conditions. Notably, Khalas outperformed Reziz and Sheshi in terms of drought tolerance, showcasing inherent cultivar-specific variations in adaptation.
