all tweets prof cyclists

On a daily basis over a period of 33 days, from February 21st , 2021 till  March 27th , 2021, data was collected for all professional cyclists; i.e., all riders under contract to a UCI WorldTeam or a UCI ProTeam having a Twitter profile in the period under consideration. Data was collected for 795 Twitter profiles. In addition, the results (CQ points) of all races in that period were collected for those riders. An observation is a cyclist-day. During these 33 days 25,409 observations were collected. The CQ points obtained were collected via the website cq-ranking.com. 
The program NodeXL was used to take a snapshot of relevant data from Twitter for the complete list of cyclists each day at 5 AM. The number of followers, number of follows and total number of favorites per rider were retrieved. In addition, all posted tweets and retweets of the last 24 hours were collected. By collecting these tweets and retweets daily rather than only at the end of the entire period, we minimize the chance of missing a deleted tweet; i.e., all tweets that are not deleted within 24 hours are included in our analysis.
