In recent years, increasingly serve climate conditions have intensified the threat of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) to ecological conservation. However, its potential impact on pollinators remains poorly understood. Honeybees (Apis mellifera), which serve as crucial pollinators and sensitive bioindicators of environmental pollution, may be exposed to AFB1 when saprophytic fungi colonize their food resources such as pollen, thereby posing a potential risk to their health. Here, we employed metagenomic analyses to identify changes in microbial composition to evaluate the disruption of the gut microbial community induced by AFB1 exposure.
