Production loss due to heat stress negatively impacts farmers. Chicken rearing is a major source of revenue for backyard farmers in Kenya. In this study we compared the gene expression pattern pre and post heat stress in chickens collected from a lowland region (Mombasa) and highland region (Naivasha) in kenya. Heart and Breast muscle samples were collected and they were subjected to RNAseq analysis.
