VPRS 7789 Minute Books

This series records the minutes of meetings of the Tramway Board (VA 2693). Minutes record summary details of the general administrative activities of the Tramway Board discussed at the meetings, any decisions of the Board on general matters, correspondence received, appointments, reports and expenditure. The minutes are arranged chronologically by date of meeting. Each meeting is numbered and the date, time and location of each meeting is recorded. Each set of minutes is signed by the Chairman of the Board.Separately bound subject indexes are attached by a cord at the spine to each volume. The indexes are arranged alphabetically and give page number references to the volume to which they are attached. Though these indexes would technically constitute a separate series, their attachment to the volumes constitutes an original order which has been respected. Series ended on the 11 November 1919 when the function of the Tramway Board passed to the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramway Board (VA 2964).
