Two series of concrete cylinders, one alkali-silica reaction (ASR) prone and the other ASR-mitigated, were weathered for ~2 years, with samples archived every ~6 weeks. DNA was extracted from triplicate concrete samples and precursor materials, and 16S amplicon sequencing with Illumina MiSeq was performed.
