Cellulosimicrobium sp. G4 BAM 1002 strain:iChip isolate G4 | isolate:iChip isolate G4 Genome sequencing

Nine different bacterial isolates were recovered from two former landfill sites in the State of Brandenburg, Germany. The bacteria were isolated by applying a highly revised iChip procedure. Each of the 9 isolates was obtained in pure culture. As a consortium, the 9 bacteria are capable of degrading polyethylene film. The complete genome sequence of Cellulosimicrobium G4 BAM 1002 was determined by long-read PacBio sequencing. Using the TYGS for taxonomic classification, G4 BAM 1002 was assigned to the genus Cellulosimicrobium as a new species.
