As a major food crop, rice is highly vulnerable to climate change. Assessing future changes in rice yields due to global climate extremes is critical for maintaining rice security. We projected the global rice yield distribution from 2030 to 2079 at a spatial resolution of 0.5° under the SSP126, SSP245, and SSP370 scenarios. The relative contributions of five key climate extreme indices were then determined. This study provides a spatial distribution of the magnitude of climate-extreme impacts on global rice yield variability, with important scientific and practical value for global rice security.The dataset includes the raster maps produced in the study. The core codes are also stored in a ZIP package.
