DE: In diesem Forschungsbericht wird die Wahrnehmung und Bewertung künstlerischer Fotografie aus fotopsychologischer Perspektive analysiert. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie fotografische Bilder wahrgenommen, interpretiert und bewertet werden und welche Rolle dabei ästhetische Merkmale, emotionale Reaktionen, fotografische Expertise sowie der jeweilige Nutzungskontext spielen. Aufbauend auf zentralen theoretischen Ansätzen der Wahrnehmungs-, Emotions- und Bildwirkungsforschung werden psychologische Mechanismen der Bildrezeption künstlerischer Fotografie eingeordnet und diskutiert. Die empirische Grundlage bildet eine Onlinebefragung unter Fotografie-Aktiven mit Amateur- und Profifotografen (N = 431). Untersucht werden Unterschiede und Gemeinsamkeiten in der Wahrnehmung, Bewertung und Bedeutungszuschreibung künstlerischer Fotografien sowie der Einfluss verschiedener Kontexte auf die Einordnung der Bilder. Die Ergebnisse verdeutlichen, dass die Wirkung künstlerischer Fotografie nicht allein über formale Bildmerkmale verstanden werden kann, sondern in enger Verbindung mit Vorerfahrungen, fotografischer Expertise und dem Wahrnehmungskontext steht. Der Bericht schließt mit einer zusammenfassenden Einordnung zentraler Befunde und mit Perspektiven für zukünftige Forschung zur Wahrnehmung und Bewertung künstlerischer Fotografie. EN: This research report analyzes the perception and evaluation of artistic photography from a photography-psychological perspective. The central focus is on how photographic images are perceived, interpreted, and evaluated, and on the role of aesthetic features, emotional responses, photographic expertise, and the specific context of use. Building on key theoretical approaches from perception research, emotion research, and image impact research, psychological mechanisms of the reception of artistic photography are examined and discussed. The empirical basis consists of an online survey of photography-active participants, including amateur and professional photographers (N = 431). The study investigates similarities and differences in the perception, evaluation, and attribution of meaning to artistic photographs, as well as the influence of different contexts on image evaluation. The results indicate that the impact of artistic photography cannot be understood solely in terms of formal image characteristics, but is closely linked to prior experience, photographic expertise, and the context of perception.
