Oral microbiome profile analysis reveals intratumoral Fusobacterium nucleatum promotes oral cancer development

In recent years, it has been reported that various diseases including cancer are associated with dysbiosis. The oral dysbiosis and the alteration of microbial metabolite greatly affect the oral environment, resulting in oral diseases such as periodontal disease. However, the relationship between the oral microbiota and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) has not been elucidated yet. To elucidate the mechanism of OSCC onset and development, we will try to identify the potential triggers of OSCC focusing on oral microbiota candidates for prevention of OSCC.
