14 Ophiostomatales genomes and a single Microascales genome. Genome sequencing and assembly. Sordariomycetes

The aims of this project were to reconsider the diversity of Ophiostomatoid fungi associated with Pinus in Australia, and to establish the baseline of expected taxa found within these ecosystems. A whole genome sequencing approach allowed for robust multi-locus sequence extraction in order to perform taxonomic assessment, and also permitted the rapid establishment of a curated genomic database of Ophiostomatoid fungi. These will continue to aid in the development of improved diagnostic resources and capabilities for Australian biosecurity.
