Genome sequencing of Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. cyamopsidis (Patel et al.1953) Vauterin et al. 1995

We sequenced genomes of several strains of Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. cyamopsidis (Patel et al.1953) Vauterin et al. 1995 from the National Collection of Plant Pathogenic Bacteria.Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. cyamopsidis is a bacterial pathogen that infects guar plants (Cyamopsis tetragonoloba). This pathogen is responsible for causing bacterial blight, a disease characterized by water-soaked lesions, which can eventually turn necrotic and lead to significant damage to the foliage and pods of the guar plant. The disease can reduce the yield and quality of the guar gum produced, which is economically important.
