Here we sequence and analyse genome data from new members the Enterocytozoonidae and analyse patterns of loss of the glycolytic pathway in the microsporidia and carry out a comparative analysis of the transporter repertoire in intranuclear versus cytoplasmic pathogens with a view to casting light on the metabolic requirements of the intranuclear pathogen, Enterospora canceri
