In order to explore the potential role of escape of late apoptosis in metastasis, we induced apoptosis and subsequently inhibited the death process in a primary culture of colon cancer cells. Here we wanted to explore the transcriptome of such "undead" cells 7 days after apoptosis induction. Primary colon cancer cells (CC14) were treated with STS and 6h after with DIDS and Q-VD_Oph. 7 days after these treatments, cells were harvested and total RNA extracted using TRIzol Reagent (Ambion) following the manufacturer's protocol. Each condition was independently processed in triplicates and the libraries were prepared using Illimina TruSeq protocols. The samples were sequenced on a HiSeq Illumina 4000 machine with 50bp reads followed by standard analyses.
