Rehmannia glutinosa strain:85-5 Transcriptome or Gene expression

The tuberous root of Rehmmania is widely used in TCM to treat a many ailments, and more than 30 iridoids and other compounds displaying pharmaceutical activities have been isolated from the roots. In an effort to understand the transcriptome changes during the development process of R. glutinosa, we sequenced the RNAs from three staged roots and the expression of genes of interest is determined by RNA-seq. The dynamic transcriptome changes will shed light on the metabolic pathways in R.glutinosa and allow us to identify genes involved in iridoid biosynthesis. Further more, we also planed to identify TFs and genes related to the tuberous root development, which will facilitates us understanding the tuberous root development mechanism of R. glutinosa.
