资源简介:

This is a dataset for the paper "Understanding DNS Dynamics over the Starlink Network" by Richter & Bajpai. The paper is available from two sources: IFIP Open Digital Library: https://opendl.ifip-tc6.org/db/conf/networking/networking2026/1571254812.pdf 1st Author's Personal Webpage: https://robert-richter.me/pdfs/starlink-dns-dynamics.pdf What the Dataset Contains Unpacking the dataset results in a structure like this: ./ Monaco.ttf custom-dns-measurements pyproject.toml ripe-atlas-data starlink-satellite-development.csv uv.lock *.ipynb This contains three kinds of entities: Jupyter notebooks: Files with the .ipynb extension are Jupyter notebooks. They carry the analysis code, which serves as the basis for the paper's conclusions. Folders: The data resides in two folders, "custom-dns-measurements", which contains data from our own custom measurements, and "ripe-atlas-data", which contains data from RIPE Atlas. The latter stores data in .parquet files due to its large size. Other files: There are additional files (e.g., "Monaco.ttf") required for utility purposes. Also, they constitute a Python project that further research can use to identify tooling dependencies or quickly get their own setup. Running the Code Yourself The dataset is designed so that researchers can quickly get up and running. For that, we recommend using the uv package manager. From there, run the following commands: uv sync uv run jupyter-lab The resulting Jupyter Lab will allow you to access all notebooks, which contain the code for creating the plots. Please be aware that we ran the code in a high-performance cluster environment. There may be high resource requirements.
