资源简介:
At the request of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Washington, D.C., the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District (SLD), conducted a survey of archaeological collections and associated documentation generated from archaeological investigations conducted within the boundaries of Indian reservations located in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah. Site visits and mail surveys were conducted during 2001-2002 to assess the archaeological collections. In the aforementioned states, BIA is responsible for administering 166 reservations. Of these reservations, SLD staff identified collections for 37, totaling over 3,716.08 cubic feet of artifacts and approximately 115.67 linear feet of associated documentation. All collections require at least partial rehabilitation to comply with federal regulation 36 CFR Part 79, Curation of Federally-Owned and Administered Archeological Collections.
