This project focuses on reconstructing metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) from human gut samples of the Estonian population. Utilizing 1,878 metagenome samples, we successfully reconstructed MAGs, which were then clustered at the species level. A representative MAG from each species was selected to create a reference collection for the Estonian population. This database serves as a valuable resource for identifying new disease associations and potentially discovering population-specific bacteria unique to Estonia.
