Mexico: monthly international air cargo traffic 2019-2020

In April 2020, the international air cargo traffic from and to Mexico amounted to approximately 29.1 thousand metric tons. This represented a decrease of around 46.1 percent in comparison with the air cargo traffic reported during the same month a year earlier. The severe slowdown in the international air traffic is related to the health emergency declared by the Mexican government at the end of March 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak. From that moment on, all non-essential activities in the public and private sectors of this Latin American country were suspended.
