Structure of microbial communities when complementary effluents are anaerobically digested

The concept of complementarity of effluents was successfully applied to the anaerobic digestion of piggery effluent, using the olive mill wastewater as complement, under mesophilic and batch conditions. Next-generation Sequencing was applied to characterize microbial composition and to identify how this was affected by different degrees of inhibiting environments.
