Seismotectonic maps in the vicinity of the lower Wabash Valley, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky - Digital Spatial Database: Surface and near-surface faults

This cover consists of surface and near-surface faults compiled by
the Illinois
Basin Consortium in a multiyear project. This part of the project
ended around 1994 and resulted in a publication by the Gas Research
Institute. The report, cited in a cross-reference, contains a
paper map titled "Major structural features of the Illinois Basin."
We received a digital copy of the map in dxf format, and edited it
to include only the faults.
Our intent is to show the overall pattern of faults, and to show
the location of the main exposed and near-surface faults for
comparison to deep subsurface structures. We made little attempt to
edit details of the digitized faults, beyond adding tick marks to
indicate dip directions of a few normal faults. For details such
as exact locations, fault dips, separations, and crosscutting
relations, users should consult the original geologic maps cited
in the Gas research Institute publication.
