Impact of Calcium Maltobionate Supplementation on Human Gut Microbiome: A Clinical Trial. Bacteria

This project examines the effects of calcium maltobionate supplementation on the human gut microbiome. In this two-week clinical trial, healthy participants consumed 5 grams of calcium maltobionate daily. Fecal samples were collected before and after the supplementation period to analyze changes in the gut microbial composition using 16S rRNA gene sequencing. The study aims to evaluate the prebiotic potential of calcium maltobionate in vivo and its impact on the diversity and abundance of gut bacteria. By comparing pre- and post-supplementation microbiome profiles, we seek to understand how this compound influences the human gut ecosystem. This research contributes to our understanding of dietary interventions for modulating the gut microbiome and their potential health benefits.
