Transcriptomics-based analysis of the effect of cadmium on the liver of Xiangxi yellow heifer

The toxic effects of Cd on the liver are investigated by whole-transcriptome sequencing (RNA-seq) of liver tissues of Xiangxi heifer fed Cd-exceeding diets in this work. We found significant differences in genes associated with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-apoptotic properties under Cd exposure. The genes involved in the results of this study provide useful biomarkers for the prediction of cadmium-related diseases in the future.
