The objective of this study was to examine the effects of the fungi Clonostachys rosea on the growth and photosynthesis of the freshwater microalgae Chlorella sp. during indirect contact co-culture, investigating signaling metabolites related to the interaction of fungi and microalgae. A dialysis-based co-culture setup was used for co-cultures, while metabolomics and transcriptomics were used to screen the signaling metabolites and genes involved, respectively.
