Loss of Heterozygosity (LOH) due to mitotic recombination can lead to various cancers. Saccharomyces cerevisiae is an excellent model system to study LOH because it can divide rapidly and the genes involved in recombination are conserved in the human genome. IRC20 (Increased Recombination Centre 20) gene is known to be involved in DSB repair pathway. Therefore, we analyzed genome-wide LOH events, single nucleotide mutations, indels ,and numerical aneuploidy in 11 irc20 null MA lines, that underwent 50 mitotic bottlenecks.We also analyzed whether IRC20 gene is important for regulating meiotic recombination as well. The files submitted contain raw sequence data for the whole genome mitotic and meiotic recombination analysis in the S. cerevisiae irc20 null mutant. These studies were performed in the S. cerevisiae S288c/YJM789 hybrid background.
