This dataset comprises long-term daily 1 km gridded data of snow water equivalent and snow depth for Switzerland spanning the hydrological years 1962 until 2023. The SWE data were generated using the OSHD temperature index model and subsequent quantile mapping (Michel et al. 2024). The snow depth data were derived from the SWE data after applying the SWE2HS conversion algorithm. Details on theses datasets can be found in doi.org/10.5194/tc-19-4391-2025. The products were developed as part of the SPAtial Snow climatology for Switzerland (SPASS) project, a collaboration between MeteoSwiss and SLF.
