Learning from Different Experiences: Multilevel Governance of Health and Care Services in Denmark and Norway, 2012

A study focusing on the multilevel coordination of policy-making and governance between national, regional and local levels of government. Consists of five surveys.

Survey 1: Danish municipal politicians who were members of the health committee/ the committee in charge of health care in all Danish municipalities. The survey was conducted from February to April 2012. 198 of a total of 599 Dansih health policy makers (33 percent) completed all or part of the questionnaire.

Survey 2: Norwegian municipal politicians who until the local elections in 2011 were members of the health care committee/ the committee in charge of health care in the Norwegian municipalities falling within Helse Vest RHF (the Western Norway Regional Health Authority). I.e. the three counties Rogaland, Hordaland and Sogn og Fjordane. The survey was conducted during January-March 2012. 238 of a total of 643 health policy makers (37 percent) completed all or parts of the questionnaire.

Survey 3: Norwegian health managers/ administrators responsible for health care in the municipalities falling within Helse Vest RHF. This was completed in the period December 2011 - February 2012. 67 of a total of 87 health managers (77 percent) completed all or part of the questionnaire.

Survey 4: Members of collaboration / coordination committees at the local Norwegian health authorities within Helse Vest RHF. The sample has representatives from the local authorities and health trusts. The survey was conducted in January - March 2012 95 of a total of 136 committee members (70 percent) completed all or part of the questionnaire.

Survey 5: Directors of all local Norwegian health authorities (except pharmacy enterprises). This survey was carried out in the period February-March 2012. 167 of a total of 253 Norwegian directors (66 percent) completed all or part of the questionnaire.
