Application of an Impregnated Vial Bioassay for Rapid Field Detection of Insecticide Efficacy Against Scirtothrips dorsalis in Blueberry production

This study evaluated the use of an infield impregnated vial bioassay to assess the contact efficacy of six insecticides: cyantraniliprole, diazinon, imidacloprid, malathion, spinosad and zeta-cypermethrin. Field-collected females of Scirtothrips dorsalis were exposed to commercial formulations of each active ingredient for 0.33, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 h. Dead and alive thrips were counted independently for each exposure time.
