The Fusarium oxysporum strain FO12 was collected from the cork of Quercus suber during a survey to collect vegetal and environmental samples to isolate their biome and obtain potential beneficial microorganisms for biological control. The non-pathogenic strain F. oxysporum FO12 has been characterised as a biological control agent of Verticillium dahliae in olive trees and as a potential natural plant inducer for Fe acquisition in calcareous soils.
