In this paper, an H∞ intermittent sampled-data load frequency security control (ISDLFSC) scheme is designed to solve the security control problem of multi-area power systems (MAPS) under random deception attacks. In this scheme, the intermittent control signal is only used in the working interval and can effectively save the control cost where sampled-data control can save limited network bandwidth and security control can effectively resist the influence of random deception attacks on the MAPS. According to the characteristics of intermittent control and sampled-data control, and the influence of randomly deception attacks, a closed-loop MAPS is given. In order to analyze the mean square exponential stability and H∞ performance of the MAPS, a switching-time-dependent Lyapunov functional is proposed. Then, in the framework of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), sufficient conditions for the existence of H∞ intermittent sampled-data load frequency security controller are derived. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed design method is verified by the simulation of the 3-area power system under random deception attacks.
