Dataset 3 gathered in York university woodlots

On September 22nd, 2014 around 3:00 pm with sunny weather, we as a group of four (Farnaz, Bahar, Tiffani, and Danny) headed to the York university's woodlots at Keele campus. We collected data for four datasets whereas dataset three is presented here. Starting at the edge of the woodlot, 10 pairs of trees were measured in circumference at breast height and the distance each pair were apart from each other. The first tree in each pair (referred to the main tree hereafter) is chosen as it is encountered walking a straight line from the edge of the woodlot to the centre. The second tree in pair refers to the closest tree to the main tree, in any direction. The main tree's circumference was measured first, using a transect measuring tape; followed by measuring the distance between the main and the closest tree to it. Then the circumference of the second tree was measured and recorded. The condition of each tree was also determined using its healthiness and canopy from 0-2, 2 being a tree with a huge green canopy (less than 40% sky seen). The same process was replicated for another 9 pairs of trees and the data collected were recorded and later transferred to an excel file where the diameter at breast height for all 20 trees was calculated to four decimal places; using the formula diameter=circumference/3.1416.
