miRNA expression profiles of garlic-derived exosomes

In this study, we investigated the miRNA profiling of garlic-derived exosomes and screened the miRNAs associated with the expression of 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2, 6-biphosphatase 3 (PFKFB3), one of the critical glycolytic enzymes, which shape the metabolic reprograming of macrophage induced by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and mitigate the inflammatory response in adipocytes. Overall design: Ultracentrifugation combined with PEG precipitation was used to isolate exosomes from garlic purchased from a local market. After total RNAs were extracted from GDE, and the quality and concentration of the RNAs were checked using an Agilent 2200 UV spectrophotometer. And then, reverse-transcription-PCR amplification, small-RNA libraries were prepared and sequenced, with raw reads being collected using an Illumina Hiseq 2500 platform.
