The inhibitory effect of aurodox on SPI-2 secretion in Salmonella Typhimurium

Description: Aurodox, a natural product biosynthesised by Streptomyces goldiniensis, has previously been shown to inhibit the Locus of Enterocyte Effacement (LEE) Type III secretion system in Citrobacter rodentium and enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli. However, whether this effect applies to other Type III Secretion Systems remains to be seen. Here, we seek to answer this question by screening multiple Type III secretion systems from Gram -ve pathogens. These data compare the transcriptomes of Salmonella Typhimurium in SPI-2 inducing conditions, in the presence and absence of aurodox.
