Epigenetics was reported to mediate the effects of environmental risk factors on disease pathogenesis. To unleash the role of DNA methylation modification in the pathological process of cardiovascular diseases in diabetes, we screened differentially methylated genes by methylated DNA immunoprecipitation chip (MeDIP-chip) among the enrolled participants. Comparison of DNA methylation in normal control (NC group, n=3), diabetes without cardiovascular diseases (DM group, n=3), and diabetes with cardiovascular diseases (CVD group, n=3). DNA methylation data were obtained using NimbleGen Human DNA Methylation 3x720K CpG Island Plus RefSeq Promoter Microarray.
