High frequency diel monitoring of water chemistry in creeks of northern AB and southern NWT

This dataset records water quality gathered by the Catchment and Wetland Sciences Research Group from June – October 2023, and June – September 2024. This dataset includes high frequency intensive water chemistry monitoring at a 30-minute scale using YSI EXO2 Multiparameter Sondes at four creeks in the Taiga Plains (northern AB and southern NWT). We monitored various physio-chemical characteristics, including temperature, pH, oxidation-reduction potential, dissolved oxygen, specific conductivity, turbidity, and fluorescent dissolved organic matter (fDOM). Monitoring was conducted in order to determine diel patterns of fDOM, and what potential processes could be controlling these diel patterns if they existed, and any variations with permafrost extent.
