EMS derived C. elegans strains that have resistance to avermectins were backcrossed to a SNP rich strain (CB4856) followed by two rounds of anthelmintic selection before DNA extraction of pooled populations and WGS. SNPs proximate to resistance causing alleles would show linkage, facilitating SNP mapping of resistance associated loci to the resolution of a testable number of candidate genes. Novel alleles of the known resistance associated genes che-3, dhc-3, dyf-2, ifta-1, osm-1 and osm-3 were identified from this study.
