The objective of this study was to investigate the global transcriptomic changes in the porcine oviduct after ovulation and to further investigate the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) associated with the transition from estrus to metestrus phase after ovulation. The RNA-Sequencing of the post ovulatory ampulla (POA) and early luteal ampulla (ELA) tissues were conducted using Illumina NextSeq2000. The R package NOISeq was used to obtain significant differentially expressed genes (DEGs) with probability of differential expression (1-FDR) value = 0.95 and log2 fold change (log2FC) = 1. The DEGs were further explored by bioinformatics analysis for gene ontology, pathway analysis, hub gene analysis and immune system process analysis. Overall design: The RNA-Sequencing of the post ovulatory ampulla (POA) (n = 3) and early luteal ampulla (ELA) (n = 3) tissues were conducted using Illumina NextSeq2000.
