Vibrio sp. HV10. Vibrio sp. HV10 was isolated from the sea slug Elysia rufescens and produces the bioactive compound kahalalide. This compound has activity against AIDS opportunistic infections and against prostate cancer. The genome sequence of this organism will provide information on the production and regulation of this and other potentially useful compounds.
