本整编主要收录反映中国历史时期森林资源与生态的史料，包括森林分 布与变迁、森林采伐与利用、森林灾害与破坏，及其相关的野生动植物资源等， 但与森林关系不密切，或难以反映森林状况的动植物资源，不予收录。本整编按照中国现代行政区域划分为七个部分，分别为华北、华东、华中、华南、西南、西北、东北，形成七卷，分别为华北卷、华东卷、华中卷、华南卷、西南卷、西北卷、东北卷。

This compilation primarily collects historical documents reflecting forest resources and ecological conditions during China's historical periods, covering forest distribution and changes, forest harvesting and utilization, forest disasters and destruction, as well as related wildlife and plant resources. Wildlife and plant resources that have weak relevance to forests or cannot effectively reflect forest conditions are not included in this compilation. This compilation is divided into seven sections based on modern Chinese administrative divisions, namely North China, East China, Central China, South China, Southwest China, Northwest China and Northeast China, thus forming seven volumes respectively titled North China Volume, East China Volume, Central China Volume, South China Volume, Southwest China Volume, Northwest China Volume and Northeast China Volume.
