B10.BR and CBA/J (both H-2k) mice were both positive. The authors concluded that the epitope was capable of binding to the Ak molecule, but was incapable of triggering a T cell response in B10.A mice. The epitope was also found to competitively inhibit the response of HEL(20-35)-specific T cell hybridoma to HEL(20-35) peptide.
