This repository contains the simulation and analysis code, as well as the raw data used to generate the figures presented in the paper "Reducing segregation in vibrated binary-sized granular mixtures by excessive small particle introduction," published in Granular Matter. Simulation and Analysis Codes: The core simulation and analysis scripts are located primarily within the origin folder: origin/: This directory serves as a template and includes the following base files: base_input.txt: Defines the input parameters for the simulation. This file is modified by various_para.sh for different parameter sets. base_make_initial.c: A C program to construct the initial particle configurations. base_lammps.lmp: The main LAMMPS simulation script. base_analysis.c: A C program to analyze the radial distribution function (RDF). base_begin_pc.sh: A shell script that executes the main simulation and analysis workflow (base_make_initial.c, base_lammps.lmp, base_analysis.c). Please modify this script (base_begin_pc.sh) to match your specific computational environment. Other important scripts include: various_para.sh: This shell script automates the process of running simulations for various parameters. It creates copies of the origin folder, modifies the parameters in base_input.txt within each new folder, assigns appropriate folder names, and then executes base_begin_pc.sh in each folder. base_analysis_sk.py: A Python script designed to calculate the structure factor. sk.sh: This shell script distributes base_analysis_sk.py to each parameter-specific folder (created by various_para.sh) and executes the Python script to perform the structure factor calculation. Raw Data for Figures: The raw data used to generate the figures are organized into separate folders (please note that Figure 1 is a schematic representation and does not have a corresponding data folder): data_fig2-5/: Raw data for Figures 2-5. data_fig6-8/: Raw data for Figures 6-8. data_fig9-11/: Raw data for Figures 9-11. data_fig12-14/: Raw data for Figures 12-14. data_fig15-17/: Raw data for Figures 15-17. data_fig18-20/: Raw data for Figures 18-20. Within each of these data_fig* folders, the file data_main_large.dump contains the trajectory data specifically for the large particles.
