VPRS 18164 Case Books: Male Patients

This series consists of volumes which document the case history of male military patients admitted to Bundoora Repatriation Mental Hospital/Convalescent Farm (VA 5087). It may also include records of military patients admitted to Mont Park Military Hospital, a wing of Mont Park Hospital for the Insane (VA 2846), prior to the opening of the Bundoora Repatriation Mental Hospital/Convalescent Farm in 1920.Each patient admitted was required by legislation to have a record created to document their case history from time of admission to time of discharge.The Patient Case Books provide details of patient movements between wards and/or other hospitals, as well as recording incidents which occurred at the hospital or whilst the patient was on leave. This can include details of incidents involving the patients such as escapes from hospital, police involvement in patient return, medical conditions, and treatment and death of patients. In some cases patient information is recorded across both volumes in this series.
