Data includes CAD files of a planar histological microgrinder designed to retrofit a FORCIPOL 1V wheel grinder-polisher as described by Sanaei 2023 (Journal of Histotechnology). The construct can be used to obtain relatively thin histological sections (20-60 µm) of resin embedded bone and/or metal that are suitable for light microscopy. The provided .stl files can be 3D printed in PLA or any other material of choice and assembled as described in the paper. The main 3D design file (.blend), a brief assembly guide and a short video have also been provided here. CAD files can be modified to retrofit any other grinder base of similar type.
