Loss of EGFR prevents the synergistic early-phase impact of obesity-associated metabolic and humoral stress on primary VSMC – stressor synergy, sex-dependence

RNAsequencing was performed for murine primary aortic smooth muscle cells (SMC) and endothelial cells (EC) from wildtype animals (WT) and animals with conditional EGFR knockout in VSMC (KOsmc) after exposing the cells to obestity-associated stress factors. Overall design: Cells were exposed to for 24h to 20 mM glucose + 100 µM free fatty acids (HG+FFA) or 30 nM angiotensin II + 300 nM epinephrine (AII+NA) or all four stressors together (ALL).
